Chocolate Maple bars

  • 1/2 cup shortening

  • 3/4 cup maple syrup

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 3 eggs

  • 3 tsp milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 tsp baking powder

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1 1/2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted

  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

  • Cream together shortening, maple syrup, and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Add eggs, milk, and vanilla extract; mix well.

  • In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to the creamed mixture and stir until just combined.

  • Fold in the melted chocolate and chopped pecans.

  • Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan.

  • Bake for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  • Let cool before slicing and serving. Enjoy!

Maple butter twist

  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 3 tablespoons sugar

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt

  • 1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast

  • 3/4 cup 2% milk

  • 1/4 cup butter

  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature

  • In a large bowl, combine 1-1/2 cups flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.

  • Heat milk and butter in a saucepan to 120°-130°. Add to dry ingredients and beat until moistened.

  • Add eggs and beat for 2 minutes on medium.

  • Stir in enough remaining flour to form a firm dough.

  • Knead on a floured surface until smooth and elastic, 5-7 minutes.

  • Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 70 minutes.

Mini maple cinnamon rolls

  • 2/3 cup whole milk

  • 1/3 cup maple syrup

  • 1/3 cup softened butter

  • 1 large egg at room temperature

  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

  • 3 cups bread flour

  • 1 package (1/4 ounce) of active dry yeast

  • Add the first seven ingredients to a bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer and select the dough setting.

  • Once the dough is ready, roll it into two 12x7-inch rectangles and sprinkle each with a mixture of brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon.

  • Roll up each rectangle jelly-roll style, cut into 12 slices, and place cut side down in a greased 13x9-inch baking pan.

  • Let the rolls rise until doubled, then bake at 375°F for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

  • While the rolls are cooling, combine confectioners' sugar, butter, syrup, and milk in a small bowl and spread over the warm rolls.

Chewy maple cookies

  • 1/2 cup shortening

  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed

  • 1 large egg

  • 1/2 cup maple syrup

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract or maple flavoring

  1. Cream together the shortening and brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in the egg, syrup, and vanilla until well mixed.

  2. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to the creamed mixture and stir in coconut. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto greased baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart. Bake at 375°F for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly browned.
